Traditions are my favorite part of Christmas. My favorite tradition that my family has is getting together on Christmas eve with my aunt and uncles family. This year was one of the best yet...we mixed it up a little bit and had chinese food I even went above and beyond and made coconut shrimp(and it turned out dang good if I do say so) anyways we always get together and play games and best of all we play the chimes!! yes that is right the chimes it is the GREATEST tradition we have!! Last night we finally came to the conclusion we play the chimes because we can't sing but no matter what the reason I love it and wouldnt want to do anything else on Christmas eve. However this Christmas eve was sad my cousin Sam, whom we have not have a christmas eve without since I can remember couldn't join us because he left on December 15 to the mtc...so Sam you were missed and we hope you did something somewhat as enteraining as chimes in the mtc(if that is even possible)...
Playing chimes!!(look how happy they all are)
example of the things said and done at our christmas eve party:
While getting dinner we had the slush for our drinks set on the bar by the food my dear sweet grandma then proceedes to put it on her plate(thinking it is some kind of jello no doubt)...so of course we cant let her keep it there so my Kami grabs it with her hand and sticks it in my grandmas cup. while everyone is busting there gut laughing because grandma doesnt even really notice she has done something wrong.
Conversation about Sam in the MTC
Mom"so can Sam email you from the MTC"
Aunt Phyllis"yes he gets to email once a week"
Kevin"I didn't get to email when I was in the MTC"
Stan"yeah me either"
Alex(very sarcastically)"yeah and did you know soon they also get community cell phones and they get to send one text a week!"
It might not be funny to anyone else but I love my family they are the best EVER and I will be so sad if our Christmas eve tradition ever has to stop!....
ps Alex if you ever read this I owe you ten bucks...and it was worth every penny;)
