What will they think of next

oh, i am just sitting here at 7:30am pondering the world of technology. it impacts our life everyday all day. wow! when i was ten we spent 30 minutes a week on the computer in the computer lab and practiced typing. i remember when i first learned to use the internet and my mind was blown. now i carry around an iphone ha! 12 year old self is still saying "holy cow this is incredible". we live in a crazy cool world i tell you. even though sometimes i want to throw my computer against a wall(mostly because it is smarter than i am and i don't know how to use it) i am so grateful for all the new technology we get everyday!

here is a little taste for you. two words: panoramic pictures.
thank you steve jobs for changing out the world we one knew.
and here is one that i just find too good to be true.(special education teacher in me)

School makes you smarter

So obviously those of us that go to BYU go for the amazing academic education. BYU is a school where we can have the best of the best.  we not only get a great education when it comes to math, english, and science but we get religion as well.  its a place for academic AND spiritual growth. but today this is what i learned....
i first learned that just becuase the attractive man sitting next to you doesn't have a ring on does not mean he is't married. that was awkaward. WEAR A RING!
then i learned that Joseph Smith ripped it?? yeah ripped what? dont worry i am still trying to figure that one out too.
i learned that some freshman boys go on dates not because they like the girl or even because they think she it cute they go on dates simply to tell their friends they have a date.
i learned that this video is a metaphor for the rest of my life as a special education teacher. collaboration people! (watch it! its a goodie)
vienna vegtable orchestra. enough said.
i did learn some statistical terms(something somewhat productive right)
i learned that a group of mice is called a mischief, that a group of jellyfish is called a smack, and a group of finches is called a charm.
i also learned that at the BYU bookstore candy counter you can get goldfish for like two thousand times cheeper than anywhere else. i got this whole back for $0.78!!! WHAT???
(it doesnt look like a lot but i promise you it was! almost as much as is in one of those packages!)
please don't get the wrong idea though i promise BYU actually gives students a great education and most days it's all about applied behavior analysis, and how to give a proper assessment. today was just one of those day.

You can tell a lot by shoes

Warning this post is in no way intended to offend anybody...don't get offended. It's a general observation made by me and two friends at a football game. Ok! That being said it has come to my attention this week that shoes say a lot about a girl. So during half time some friends and I analyzed shoe wears of all types and we came up with some good conclusions.
(we lumped ourselves into it to! Here's ours foot attire for the night)
So lets talk about shoes!
Tennis shoes with long jeans, this is a Utah thing. Tennis shoes can included things such as sketchers, nikes, ascics, or any other type of running like shoe.  These are the comfort seekers and laid back. They often times(and i say often and not always, pay attention to the often) wear t shirts and hair pulled back into a pointail with minimal make up on.  Often these are the people you wake up effortlessly get ready for the day and are out the door ready to go. (BYU is full of tennis shoe wears)

Then we have ballerina flat girls. These are the preppy girls. Skinny jeans ballerina tops and a nice top or sweater are these peoples go to.  They fall somewhere between high maintanence and low maintanence they want to look put together and nice but dont want to spring for the heel to walk the mile to class.

Oh you high healed wearers you amaze me.  These people are a bit of a mystery to me, I hate heels and it hard for me to comprehend why they wear them all day. Often times these are the girls that are more high maitence(remember no offense taken by this post). They often times average below 5'4, this i understand, wanting to look taller. Full blowen make up and dressy clothes normally accomany the heels on a daily basis. Heel wears I admonish you.

Cronic tom wears: Poeple of all types that are addictted to toms. (you may need help, Just kidding!)

Vans/converse. These two made it out of the tennis shoe category to form one of their own. These are the spunky, funky, often artsy people. They wear lots of colors(sometimes in their hair), plaid scarfs, and skinny jeans.  Or sometimes its the preppy girls seeking the comfort of a tennis shoe.  They are often pretty laid back people as well.

So there it is our over generalized steryotypes of shoe wears.  Again these were observations made at a football game. These assumptions were made about people who wear the same type of shoe daily. I myself wear almost every type.  Also, these assumptions were based primarily on the popluation of BYU students. These observations were also made about girls, men well we won't even attempt that.
So what do your shoes say about you?

ps
here is a video for you sunday
i really like this look for fall. go emily frame!
a good song for labor day

The Reason Why

this week i started the special education program at byu.  i feel so extremely grateful for the opportunity.  it did not come easy i have worked hard, made a lot of changes, and fought for my chance to get where i am.  i plan on not taking it for granted for even a minute.  i have been loving it so far...the whole two days of it.  the professors are amazing and so enthusiastic and the other girls in my cohort(the group of us that will graduate togther) are so fun and inspiring.
we were asked why we chose special education in one of our classes and it got me thinking i origianlly chose to go into special education because it just clicked and i was good at it and i liked that.
however...my reason for doing special education has changed through working with people with disabilities i have gained a testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ.  through that amazing indidviduals i have had the oppotunity of working with i know my Savior loves me and loves them soo much. these special spirits are where my heart is.  i love them! they make me a better person, this is the reason i chose special education

i love this video it is just one more reason i love what i do!

I love BYU sports...when i say LOVE i mean LOVE. However, i intend on watching every game!! I can smell football in the air(figurtively) and this is all that i am thinking about...i feel slightly manly but who cares!! so dear cougs please make me proud this season and KICK SOME BUTT!!(partly so i dont look like a total idiot having a freak out at the gym when you lose!

efy!

One of my favorite memories as a teenager was being able to attend EFY, i felt the spirit more at efy than any other time in my life so far. I made friends that changed my life and that are still my friends to this day. I had session directors who taught me how to be a better person and teachers who helped teach me about the gospel. i learned that good wholesome fun was not only possible but that i enjoyed it as well. Most of all i had counselors who i love dearly and whom i looked up to. i remember wanting to be just like my counselors, and guess what....I AM NOW AN EFY COUNSELOR!! i am so EXCITED and so NERVOUS for this amazing opportunity that has been given to me. i am looking forward to seven weeks of getting to share my testimony and grow and learn for amazing people! i never thought i would be lucky enough to be able to attend efy for seven weeks in one summer but now i get the chance of a lifetime and i could not be more grateful. so while the rest of you are swimming, vacationing, and selling(haha!) all summer long i will get to be spending time with amazing youth playing fun games, dancing, and most importantly coming closer to Christ!

Ditching Real Life!

I have failed at blogging again...:( one day i will get the hang of this and become and amazing blogger. So today i am taking what my dear friend Amy calls a "MENTAL HEALTH DAY" i just decided to take the day off work and get some things done and first one my list (after spending the last hour of my morning reading other peoples blogs) is to update my own blog. Here is the rest of my day...i will be producative even though i am skipping work.
1. Take my trunk to get fixed(it has continued to break since i bought my car, one of the disadvantages of buying a car that costs about the same as a semesters tuition. however, if the trunk is the only thing breaking i am ok with it.)
2.go to the chiropractor(it wil be my first time and my back sure does need it, i think, so i am looking forward to it)
3.get my etraining done for EFY and finish my preparing my last couple devotionals(only one more week until i start!!!!)
4.go to the gym???(i am still debating i don't really want to but i probably should)
5.LEARN TO MAKE HOMEMADE BREAD(today is the day i am going to teach myself to make homemade bread!, it is somehting i have always wanted to accomplish and today i will do it!)
so this is how a ditch real life by doing things i am too lazy to do after i spend 61/2 hours with my beautiful students!

Finals, Finals!

Larry...or Aimee, this was me this week!!

So for the last 3 weeks I have been a very serious committed relationship with the library but totday we are finally going are seperate ways...(well until September when I have to go back). Ever had those semesters that totally KICK YOUR BUTT, well this one kicked mine!!! I am sad to say I failed my first test EVER this semester my American Civ class was just so much harder then I had anicipated and when the midterm came around I was so not motivated and did not study(note to self and everyone else: ALWAYS STUDY FOR BIG TESTS!) So I decided I was going to kill the final and get an A...mostly so I could pass that class. So anyways I have spent the last couple weeks of my life with my rear end parked in library chair studying for my history final probably over 30 hours of my life were spent slaving away reading and rereading my nots...and 50 questions and 26 minutes later I PASSED!!!(well I hope i passed there were only 4 questions i didnt know) So to all of you who just finished finals as well congratulations you made it one more semester towards real life!! And i would like to give a CONGRATULATIONS to my amazing friend Erin Collins who just graduated BYU you are amazing and i am jealous!!

We mad cute bunny ear hats, chick cookies, we dyed eggs, made our own Easter baskets(SO EASY), and had a fun Easter egg hunt. It is so FUN being able to work at an elementary school especially for holidays I get to be a kid again and enjoy all the fun things!...(i think i have more fun than my students do most of the time)

Best Dad Award Goes To Phillip Rosen!!

I have the best Dad in the whole world and this was proved to me once again this week. So anyway i have always been scared of well pretty much everything stairs, slides, being alone, bears, cats, dogs, being kidnapped, the dark, heights. My poor dad is usually the one that has to deal with the affects and consequences of all my CRAZY fears and thankfully he is always patient and humors me as i run away crying because there is a dog or i cling to the the side of the trail while hiking so i dont fall off the cliff and die. Now most of these situations happened a long time ago when i was little but this week my dad had to come to my rescue once again. I am alone for a while since my grandparents are off enjoying the warm sunny weather in California. At first i was pumped to be all alone..i could have the house to do whatever i wanted...things like my laundry and cooking and making a huge mess and not feeling bad about it and listening to my music way too loud. however, my time alone started out with a rocky start monday i got home and the door from the garge to the house was open(it had not been open when i had left for class that morning) so i was a little freaked out and called my mom and she informed me it was most likely just the wind and i should not worry about it..so i went on with my day and didn't think much of it. So fast forwar to tuesday morning i woke up at 5:30 as usual to get ready for class and came out of my room and the light in the stairway was on...i DID NOT leave this light on the previous morning i got TOTALLY freaked and went to grab my keys to run out and go get ready at my parents...then i remembered i left them up in the kitchen. So at this point i am crying thinking there is someone in the house with me...so i call my mom..she is mad it is 5:30 in the morning she is a sleep and i am crying never a good thing. well long story short my AMAZING INCREDIBLE UNBELIEVEABLE dad came over and checked every little space in the house for me and stayed with me while i got ready for school...he is the BEST. so thank you dad for putting up with me being a total baby!! you are the BEST EVER!!!!

Product of my Procrastination

So instead of being productive tonight and doing the hours of homework that i have let build up the past couple weeks i spent TWO HOURS on my new favorite website WANELO. it is amazing!!! it is a site where poeple post products and cool things they found online of the HUNDREDS of things i found that i love here are some of my favorites...

I wish knowing if a boy was interested in you was as easy as reading this necklace!

I WANT THIS SOOOO BAD!!

i love SPARKLES...so needless to say i loved this nail polish

i often have mulitple kinds of cereal since it is 90% of my diet and this would be so handy to have

So i am not sure i would ever want this as my bedroom but it would be a really cool place to stay on my honeymoon or someother vacation

i WILL OWN ALL of these shoes in the very near future...possibly tuesday when i get paid haha!

This is beautiful piece of furniture that hopefully one day i will be LUCKY enough to own
who doesn't want a piece of breakfast meat on their finger, leg, arm, ect.... i want these for my students they would LOVE them

Mcdonalds Parfait:$1 Satisfied Happy Stomach:Priceless!

Ok...so even though i am extremely poor and even more so now that gas has gone up to kill my checking account everytime i fill up my 12 gallon tank prices there is one thing i will not stop spending money on and that is mcdonalds YOGURT PARFAITS!!! if you have not had one before or you have and are not addicted to them...try them or try them again. i think i may have a relationship with the drive thru worker at mcdonals because i am there so much. i dont just get them for breakfast they are amazing for any meal of the day or a snack! I LOVE THEM LIKE EVERYONE IN PROVO LOVES JIMMER!!!
Parfaits were also a source of entertainment and laughter for me this week...i think it was this week anyway it was a long week so things that happened on monday feel like they really happened in january of 2010...anyway back to they story. so my amazing friend amy(who got me hooked on partaits in the first place and works at amelia with me) text me on monday and asked if i wanted a parfait(since she too indulges in them daily) anyhow i did not text her back seeing as how i was driving and my phone was in my backpack...anyway on my way to worked i spotted the mcdonalds across the steet from UVU so naturally i had to go grab my moring pick me up...a yogurt parfait. so i head to work and notice i have a text from amy that she got me a parfait(if only i had checked my phone in line at mcd's) so i get to work we laugh that i now i have two parfaits and needless to say i ate the one she got me for lunch...
wednesday my teacher lets us out of class early i am thrilled because now i have time to run across the street and get myslef a partait before work..so i text amy asking if she would like one as well, she didn't text back so knowing she loves them as much as myself and that she would probably be jealous of mine when i got to work i get her one. when i walk into her class what does she have sitting on her desk...a YOGURT PARFAIT! we both died laughing once again and once again i had a parfait with my lunch as well!!

Boys of Summer...or Summer WITHOUT Boys!

so i know i know it is not summer yet but i am one of those poeple who always has there eye on the future so in my mind it is almost summer ok?? so anyway what is with summer sales serisously?! i remember a couple summers ago when this caught on(for those of you who are not familiar with summer sales it is when, mainly boys, go out to a different state for the summer and sale pest control, or security systems, or dish ect.) anyway when it caught on i thought it was going to be a trend for a summer or two and die down but no...it just keeps getting more and more popluar!! WHAT IS THE DEAL!! here are some of my random thought on summer sales.

CONS
1. i think to do really well at summer sales you kinda have to be a lying douche bag(please excuse the language)
2.who am i suppose to date if all them men in provo are in a different state for 4 months????
3.you boys going out could come back with less money than you started the summer with...have you ever considered that!
4. you boys who aren't lying douche bags but somehow manage to make a ton of money in the 4months you are gone come back livin the life of luxury then parade you freshly true religioned v-neck wearing prideful selves around the streets of provo thinkin you are the coolest thing to come to this tiny city!!(ok maybe i am going overboard but the is the stereotype so just go with it for entertainments sake)
PROS
1. All you boys who do go out and make bank come back and take me on some seriously amazing dates
2. you go really cool places and let me come stay with you during the summer...free vacation YEAH!!!
3....well i actutally dont have a 3
4.i do have a 4!! those of you that make a ton of money and come back and blow it on motorcycles and bullet bikes can take me on rides!(dont worry i always return the favor somehow...and no that it not dirty!)
so anyway i am all for summer sales dont get me wrong if i could go out and make 40,000 dollars heck even 10,000 in 4 months then just go to class the rest of the year i totally would! all i am saying is what are us girls suppose to do while all of you good looking young men go away for the summer...it is like having to wait for you to get home from missions all over again...totally sucks!
