JIMMERED

I was OFFICAILLY JIMMERED this weekend so here you go....

Christ Like Love

I have been thinking a lot about Christ like love and loving Christ lately everything in life just seems to come back to one of these to things. What really got me thinking about Christ like love is being in a marriage prep sunday school class every other Sunday. At first when i signed up for the class I figure it would be about how we need to get married and the importance of us getting married. However, Sister Reeves my bishops wife, the one teaching the class, has done SO much more with our lessons. She has been teaching us that before we are ready to get married we need to have Christ like love and we need to love Christ. This is SO TRUE. So I made it my goal to work on both these things and I have noticed the biggest difference in my life the past month and a half. Having Christ like love is not easy I will be the first to admit that it is loving everyone no matter what. It is seeing the best in every person and going out of your way to help people. Elder Holland gave a talked title "How Do I Love The" in it he talks about having Christ like love it is an amazing talk in you have not had the opportuity to hear please do!! Jesus gave us the commandment "That ye love one another and I have LOVED you" What a huge responsibilty he has given us. He loves all of us so much whether we are poor or rich, whether we follow him or not, whether we are pretty or ugly. He loves us NO MATTER WHAT. Can we say the same about ourselves?

The other thing I have been working on is loving Christ, I have not always had that strongest testimony. I have always known the church is true and that Christ lives and loves me but I have never worked hard on having a realationship with Christ. Over the past month though I have worked on becoming friends with Christ and I have come to love him so much! I am so grateful for everything my Savior has done for me and I love him with all my heart.

Now on a lighter note if you are still even reading this...my ward had a Valentines dinner for the some of the widows in our stake last night and it was best Valentines dinner or activity I have EVER attended. Each of the boys brought a date and had dinner with them and we relief society sisters served them the whole night was a success and the ladies loved it!

Highlights:

One boy brought his grandma, she was the most ADORABLE lady I have ever has the oppotunity of meeting. When they got there(i was spying..oops) he helped her take off her coat but not just by standing behind her pulling it off he unbottoned every button on the coat for her and gently took it off and hung it up!! it was the cutest sweetest thing i have seen a boy do in a very long time.

One of the ladies made every person in our ward beanies i was lucky enough to get a blue BYU you one(i plan on wearing it to every football game i go to) i am just so grateful that some lady who does not even know us would spend so much time on making us such a beautiful present.

I over heard the coversation one boy was having with his date while I was serving it went like like

Boy:"Are you on a facebook"

Date 1: "facebook? no, i dont have time to mess around with all that computer garbage"

i wish i would have stuck around for the rest of the coverstation.

Overall the night was amazing i learned so much and saw true acts of Christ like love...

So this Valentines show someone in your life CHRIST LIKE LOVE!

I love the English!!

there are those poeple who just make you smile the are so completely themselves at every moment of the day but you can't help but love them i met one of those people today and i loved her!!!

so i was in the writing lab and i had just sat down at the table and at the table directly in front of me there is a lady sitting there with flushed cheeks and funny looking head phones and we happened to meet eyes and she gave me the biggest smile EVER which made my day i love it when people smile at me....so i didnt think much of it and went back to writing.....

3 minutes later she starts laughing...what she is laughing at, i have no clue so i start looking around thinking to myself i am missing something, nope nothing we are the only two poeple there so obviously i start laughing to myself because she is going to cry she is laughing so hard

another 2 minutes goes by she stands up and has the WORST PLUMERS CRACK ever so no i LOVE this woman even more because i feel like we just bonded without bonding because as most of you know i am the queen of plumers crack

1 minute later....she continues laughing to herself...so i start to wonder who is this woman? why is she here? she is not wearing one of the tutor vests so i just assume she is not a tutor! i start wondering what has made this woman so happy and if she would share whatever it is with me so i can be as happy as her.

another 2 mintues later...i start to wonder where my tutor is now realizing i have been staring at this woman for at least 6 mintues and feeling a little frustrated because i only have a half hour appointment and my paper needs every minute of it when all of a sudden the laughing butt crack woman plops herself in the seat next to mine and says "i will be helping you today" with the most amazing english accent i have ever heard!! i have a girl crush not only are we soul sisters she told me i was a great writer so MANDY you rock!!!!

Tradition!!!!!

Traditions are my favorite part of Christmas. My favorite tradition that my family has is getting together on Christmas eve with my aunt and uncles family. This year was one of the best yet...we mixed it up a little bit and had chinese food I even went above and beyond and made coconut shrimp(and it turned out dang good if I do say so) anyways we always get together and play games and best of all we play the chimes!! yes that is right the chimes it is the GREATEST tradition we have!! Last night we finally came to the conclusion we play the chimes because we can't sing but no matter what the reason I love it and wouldnt want to do anything else on Christmas eve. However this Christmas eve was sad my cousin Sam, whom we have not have a christmas eve without since I can remember couldn't join us because he left on December 15 to the mtc...so Sam you were missed and we hope you did something somewhat as enteraining as chimes in the mtc(if that is even possible)...

Playing chimes!!(look how happy they all are)

example of the things said and done at our christmas eve party:
While getting dinner we had the slush for our drinks set on the bar by the food my dear sweet grandma then proceedes to put it on her plate(thinking it is some kind of jello no doubt)...so of course we cant let her keep it there so my Kami grabs it with her hand and sticks it in my grandmas cup. while everyone is busting there gut laughing because grandma doesnt even really notice she has done something wrong.

Conversation about Sam in the MTC

Mom"so can Sam email you from the MTC"

Aunt Phyllis"yes he gets to email once a week"

Kevin"I didn't get to email when I was in the MTC"

Stan"yeah me either"

Alex(very sarcastically)"yeah and did you know soon they also get community cell phones and they get to send one text a week!"

It might not be funny to anyone else but I love my family they are the best EVER and I will be so sad if our Christmas eve tradition ever has to stop!....

ps Alex if you ever read this I owe you ten bucks...and it was worth every penny;)
